Meet us

Hello, we are Catherine and Steve, the proud owners of Bumblebees and Buttercups Childcare and Learning Centre.

We live in the Waikato and have four beautiful children. We started our childcare journey early in 2017 when we recognised the need for a Centre in the small community we live in. It felt like a natural fit for us and lined up with our family values and community focus. Steve was born in Morrinsville, so it’s really exciting to be able to provide this high quality purpose built Centre in his home town.

We are really excited about being able to offer childcare and learning services because as working parents, we understand the difference a quality childcare can make in the lives of busy families. We are also excited about being able to offer not only a lovely indoor learning space but also lots of outdoor space in a beautiful setting as we believe there are so many learning opportunities outdoors.

Meet Tracey

Kia ora, I’m Tracey, and I’m delighted to be the Centre Manager here at Bumblebees and Buttercups Daycare. As a teacher and former owner of Elephant Ollie in Cambridge, I love creating safe, nurturing, and engaging spaces for tamariki. I began my teaching career at St Joseph’s Catholic in Morrinsville, and I’m excited to be returning to the area and to the education sector. I’m passionate about supporting tamariki to grow, learn, and feel confident, while also guiding and mentoring the wonderful teams who care for them.

I’m especially enthusiastic about literacy, numeracy, and languages, and about creating environments where tamariki are encouraged to take on new challenges. I’m equally passionate about developing the overall hauora of each child — supporting their wellbeing, confidence, and sense of belonging, while helping to instil strong values that will guide them throughout life.

In Cambridge, I'm a mum to two teenagers, Ellie and Finn, who both attend Cambridge High School. My husband, Kieran, currently works as a Business Manager in the dairy industry. My experiences as a parent and professional give me a real understanding of the needs of tamariki and their whānau, which I bring to my leadership approach every day.

Together, we aim to create a welcoming, nurturing, and joyful space where every child and their whānau feel valued, supported and inspired. We warmly invite you to get in touch to explore how our team can best support your whānau.

Nau mai, you are welcome so come on in!
